Historical Fiction

Lasky, Kathryn. Elizabeth I: Red Rose of the House of Tudor. Scholastic, 1999.
This novel is written in the diary entries of a young Elizabeth I. The entries span from when she is ten years old to about three years after her father, King Henry VIII, death. The book does a good job of painting a portrait of living conditions, family intrigues, Elizabeth’s loneliness and surprisingly modern concerns. (Tara)
